Address APIs
for AI agents.
Suggest an address as someone types, standardise and verify it, and turn it into a point on the map, or a point back into an address. Four small APIs your coding agent can read, call and trust.
Keys and credits are issued in the developer portal.
Each one does one thing.
Use them alone or together.
Pick by where the address is
in your flow.
POST /autocomplete/suggestPOST /address/verifyPOST /address/geocodePOST /address/reverse-geocodeOne header.
One JSON body.
Every call is a POST with HTTP Basic authentication and a session token. Keep the key and secret on your server.
import os, uuid, requests r = requests.post( "https://api.devapicloud.com/v1/address/verify", auth=(os.environ["API_KEY"], os.environ["API_SECRET"]), headers={"X-Session-Token": str(uuid.uuid4())}, json={"query": { "address": "20 W 34th St, New York NY 10118", "countryCode": "USA", }}, ) print(r.json()["result"]["matchScore"])
const auth = Buffer.from( `${process.env.API_KEY}:${process.env.API_SECRET}` ).toString("base64"); const res = await fetch("https://api.devapicloud.com/v1/address/verify", { method: "POST", headers: { Authorization: `Basic ${auth}`, "X-Session-Token": crypto.randomUUID(), "Content-Type": "application/json", }, body: JSON.stringify({ query: { address: "20 W 34th St, New York NY 10118", countryCode: "USA", }}), }); console.log((await res.json()).result.matchScore);
curl -X POST https://api.devapicloud.com/v1/address/verify \ -H "Authorization: Basic $(echo -n 'KEY:SECRET' | base64)" \ -H "X-Session-Token: $(uuidgen)" \ -H "Content-Type: application/json" \ -d '{"query": { "address": "20 W 34th St, New York NY 10118", "countryCode": "USA" }}'
Three steps to a first call.
Get your key
Sign in to the developer portal and open Account, API Keys. You get an API key and a secret.
Pick an API
Open its Quick Start in the documentation, or use Try It Out in the portal, and copy the cURL example.
Make the call
Replace the placeholder credentials and run it. A good response is a 200 with result.status of OK.
Your agent is already reading this.
Tell it where to start.
Give your coding agent this prompt. It reads the agent pages, builds against the contract, and asks you for a key when it needs one.
Add address verification to this project using Addrexy. Read /agent first (also available as /llms.txt and /openapi.json), then follow /agent/build. Keep the API key and secret on the server, in environment variables. Ask me for the key and secret when you need them. Branch on result.matchScore as /agent/build describes.
